Ashlee Simpson waited too long to come clean about her nose job, magazine insiders are saying. Now that Ashley Tisdale has spoken up about her own surgery, no one’s interested in the Simpson sister’s schnoz.

“High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale has weathered the criticism surrounding her recent nose job quite well, thanks to the fact she hasn’t avoided the topic, and went so far as to talk to People magazine about post-surgery fears.

This has made another member of the rhinoplasty club quite irked: Magazine insiders say Ashlee Simpson is now shopping her story to gossip mags, but it’s too little too late.

“She just should have come clean about it at the beginning, when she was an interesting story. No one cares now — everyone knew Ashlee did it, it was obvious she had a new nose — but she thought being coy would pay off. That is until Ashley (Tisdale) proved that it’s OK to talk about it,” said the insider. (Simpson’s rep says there’s “no truth” to the story.)
