NEW YORK - Justin Timberlake is hosting an awards show — and it's not the Grammys.

ESPN has lined up the 27-year-old singer-actor to host its annual ESPY Awards show this summer, celebrating some of the best and funniest moments in sports over the past year.

The ceremony, to be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on July 20, will be televised live on ESPN, the network said Wednesday.

Timberlake says he's a sports junkie.

"I'll do my best to deliver a great show, as I do not want to be roughed up backstage by these athletes who are bigger, faster and stronger than me," he said.

Timberlake will be in the summertime movie, "The Love Guru," with Mike Myers and Jessica Alba. He recently showed a different kind of stage presence when he inducted Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Rose Byrne, co-star of FX's legal drama "Damages," will join Nicolas Cage in the sci-fi thriller "Knowing." The project is set to begin shooting later this month in her native Australia.

Byrne will play the daughter of a woman who buried a 1962 time capsule bearing the dates of the assassinations of historical figures, the hotel fire death of the wife of a professor (Cage) and an imminent world apocalypse. After the professor discovers its contents and alerts her, the initially skeptical Byrne begins remembering strange incidents from her childhood. Alex Proyas ("I, Robot") will direct.

Byrne, received a Golden Globe nomination this year for her supporting turn as an ambitious young lawyer in "Damages," which stars Glenn Close. After its first season wrapped last fall, FX ordered two additional seasons. Byrne's feature credits include "Marie Antoinette" and "28 Days Later."

Drew Barrymore in Columbia's 50 First Dates - 2004

CHICAGO - Drew Barrymore said Monday she is donating $1 million to help fight hunger.

She made the announcement on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," saying she would give the money to the World Food Program, a U.N. body that delivers millions of tons of food aid to more than 70 million people in about 80 countries.

"I'm able to make this incredible donation — this has changed my life," she said on the program. "But I encourage everyone to give."

Barrymore, who serves as a World Food Program ambassador, later told The Associated Press that the $1 million is the largest donation she's made.

"By far," the 33-year-old actress said. "But nothing has ever felt so good."

Barrymore, whose screen credits include the "Charlie's Angels" movies and "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," visited the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade Monday afternoon, saying she discussed the impact of rising food prices on the poor.

"I wanted to bring awareness to it because it's not something we think about," she said.

There has been a 40 percent rise in commodity prices since the middle of last year, caused in part by skyrocketing energy costs and rising consumer demand in developing countries like India and China, a World Food Program statement said.

The Rome-based agency has an annual budget of about $3 billion, but it said it needs $500 million more this year than it anticipated to help feed the world's poor because of the rising food and energy prices.
